So. i loved the JJ safe approach, and I loved most of Rian Johnson's brave approach. How to approach Rise of Skywalker?
The honest truth is, this is Disney making Frozen 2. The abysmal editing, the appallingly stupid dialogue, the simply unforgivable inclusion of Carrie Fisher cast offs had me chewing my fingers in embarrassment.
I felt nothing watching this film. Not even boredom. Just a sense of nothingness. At the end I just stared at the credits.
Unpopular a view that it is, I simply hated Rogue One, but even that had a couple of good scenes, when it ended I knew I would never watch it again. And that is exactly how I feel about this pitiful excuse for a movie. Everything we feared from Disney.
